Frequently Asked Questions

Q. - Can I bring my own quad bike to use on your courses ?

A. - Sorry no, our courses are not suitable for you to use your own machine.

Q. - What is the minimum age to ride the quad bikes ?

A. - You have to be at least twelve years old to ride the quads, but you can go as a passenger in the argocat at any age.

Q. - Is your centre easy to find ?

A. - Yes it is,  we are located so close to the M4 motorway we practically have our own junction !  Being centrally located in South Wales and close to all the major trunk roads we are an easy drive from anywhere.

Q. - I've noticed some other centres are closed over the winter months,  why is this ?  Is it a safety issue ?

A. - Quad Biking is far more fun when its wet and muddy, and if anything it is slightly safer due to the softer ground conditions.  Quad Challenge has done a huge amount of work on its courses to ensure they are rideable all year round - so you don't miss out on the best conditions !

Q. - Why do I have to pay extra for overalls / boots ?

A. - We believe you should have a choice whether to have these non essential items or not, if they were built in to the cost of the quad biking you may be paying for something you don't need if you prefer to use your own or indeed the weather is dry.

Q. - I have never done quad biking before, is your centre suitable for me ?

A. - Absolutely, our courses can be as easy or difficult as you want them to be, we provide full training and our extremely patient instructors are experts in getting even the most nervous person up and running on the quads.

Q. - Why do you use 125ccc automatic bikes when some other centres use 250cc bikes with gears ?

A. - We don't buy our quad bikes on price - we buy them for their ability to perform ! We want our trail to be open to the widest range of people possible, anyone from the 12 year old beginner to the experienced off roader is welcome to ride !  Our Yamaha Grizzly 125 quads are fast enough for even the most experienced quad biker, but easy enough for first timers to master.  Our customers tell us that they would rather concentrate on enjoying their experience than worrying about what gear they are in !  In fact the Yamaha Grizzly 125 is the first choice for the majority of quad biking centres in the UK, and with good reason !

Q.- Why do I have to follow a marshal around the trail course?  I want to go off on my own !

A. - You are taken round our courses for your own safety,  when you see some of the routes on our trail you will realise why !  We have a first class safety record and intend to keep it that way !  Our trail has probably the most challenging terrain of any centre in the UK to test even the most experienced rider,  if you still want to do your own thing we would rather you went elsewhere.

Q. - I see you tailor your routes according to rider ability, what happens if some people in my group are not very good, will I be bored ?

A. - No you won't be bored, if you have booked together as a group we will generally keep you together, however this is your choice and as each trail has at least two instructors,  if you wish we can route the more experienced riders on the more advanced sections of the trail, rejoining the main group later on.
